When troubleshooting, understand you are working with potentially lethal voltages. If you do not have the ability to do these operations safely, do not attempt them.
Electric furnace repair involves fairly extensive use of electric meters. You will need a clamp electric meter, a voltmeter and an ohmmeter.
Just owning the meters is not enough. You must have a thorough understanding of how to use them.
The most valuable meter is the clamp meter. With it you can do most of the troubleshoot.
